A large work that began a few months before my art residency at the Chateau Orquevaux in France. During my time at the chateau, I created a series of loops or ovals, enjoy the empty space surrounding the mark making, developing the composition over time. Returning to my Chicago studio, I approached this work with the same mark making, reacting to the palette already laid down, and bringing in some influence of the pond and waterway seen at the chateau.
